European stocks trade cautiously higher ahead of EU referendum

The stocks on the European bourses are seen trading range-bound to higher as investors remain unnerved and refrain from placing big bets ahead of Thursday’s EU referendum.

While the German DAX led the advance in the European equities, the sentiment around the FTSE was dampened somewhat by Credit Suisse 2016 forecast downward revision. Among the stocks, banking sector and mining stocks traded with strong gains amid renewed expectations that Remain camp will win tomorrow’s poll.

Meanwhile, Germany's DAX 30 index trades +0.40% at 10,056 points, while the UK’s FTSE rises +0.18% to 6,236. Among the other indices, the French CAC 40 index advances +0.16% to 4,377 levels, while the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 index loses -0.18% to 2,970 points.

Markets now await more opinion polls coming up in the day ahead, while Yellen’s 2nd round of testimony will be also closely heard for fresh incentives.
