German Ifo business morale for Dec shows solid improvement

The headline German Ifo business climate for December rebounded beyond expectations, arriving at 111 points versus November’s 110.4. While the current economic assessment also bettered expectations and jumped to 116.6 points in the reported month, as compared to 115.6 in Nov and 115.9 forecasts.

Further, the Ifo Expectations Index – indicating firms’ projections for the next six months – matched expectations for Dec, with expectations of a 105.6 figure and 105.5 seen last.
