US stocks closed up ahead Yellen speech
FXStreet (San Francisco) - Wall Street finished Thursday with gains as financials' shares fueled market on the back of BAC deal with US authorities for $16.65 Bn to to halt probes into mortgage-bond sales.
S&P closed at record high for first time since July 24 while the Dow finished above the 17,000 level.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 5.62 pts or 0.12% to close the day at 4,532.10. The S&P 500 added 5.86 pts or 0.29% to end the day at 1,992.37.
The Dow Jones won 60.43 pts or 0.36% to wrap up the session at 17,039.56.
